The new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered with the standard all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine or the award-winning 5.7-liter V8. The 3.6-liter engine is rated at 290 horsepower and 257 lb.-ft. of torque, and provides up to 6,200 pounds of towing capacity. For those drivers who crave a little more muscle, the 5.7-liter V8 is rated at 357 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque and provides up to 7,200 pounds of towing capacity. Both engines are paired with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission that enhances fuel economy and provides clean gear changes.
The new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in four trim levels: Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit. Each model is built on an all-new architecture with independent front and rear suspensions and a class-exclusive Quadra-Lift air suspension with electronic adaptive damping that delivers outstanding capability and on-road driving dynamics. Built on this new foundation is a stunning exterior modeled after the first Wagoneer with some modern upgrades. The signature seven-slot grille features a forward-slanting grille like that of the original Wagoneer, but with wider and larger grille slots, elegant trim and new slim LED headlights.
Consumers can also choose from the Quadra-Trac 1, Quadra Trac 2 and Quadra-Drive 2 4×4 systems, all of which include the class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system. The system allows drivers to switch between five available terrain modes; Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand; for optimum capability in different driving scenarios.
Inside, drivers will enjoy the all-new Uconnect 5 system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that offers operating speeds five times faster than the previous version. Unconnect 5 also offers customizable user profiles, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Alexa “Home to Car ” functionality that allows users to remotely control their vehicle from their home to remotely start the engine, control the climate and more. The available rear-seat monitoring camera allows the driver a view of their precious cargo on the touchscreen display, including a clear view of second-row, rear-facing child seat occupants, a split-view display and a unique “zoom-to-seat” function. Finally, a new premium McIntosh audio system is debuting first on the Grand Cherokee L with a 17-channel amplifier with a maximum output of 950 watts and 19 speakers and a subwoofer for an immersive listening experience!
