2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Engine

Sometimes we think to ourselves, “Is there anything Ram trucks can’t do?” We’re especially thinking that right now as it was just announced the 2020 Ram 1500 is about to become America’s most powerful half-ton diesel pickup and most capable light-duty diesel. This is thanks to the all-new third generation 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. It will deliver 480 lb.-ft. of torque and feature a towing capability of 12,560 pounds. This engine is expected to be a segment leader for fuel economy as well.

The EcoDiesel engine will be available on all models and configurations of the 2020 Ram 1500, including the Rebel for the first time.

“The new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is America’s most powerful half-ton diesel pickup, following up on Ram’s Heavy Duty torque leadership and achieving what no other manufacturer has, with up to 480 lb.-ft. of torque in a 3.0-liter engine,” Ram Head Reid Bigland said in a statement. “The all-new EcoDiesel engine and our eTorque mild-hybrid powertrain technologies deliver the highest available fuel efficiency for our Ram 1500 customers.”

The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel will be available for purchase in late 2019 and pricing and fuel ratings will be released at a later date. Until then, we wait.
