Bye Bye Charger and Challenger

January 13th, 2022 by

As the world shifts to electric vehicles and sustainability missions, the fire-breathing V8 Hemi engines come to a close. While many might be sad, the future is bright for Dodge. We have just received news that the Charger and Challenger muscle cars are going to be discontinued by 2024. The good news is that you can still purchase a new Dodge Charger or Dodge Challenger in Little Rock from Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep!

Yes, the rumors are true. Dodge says the Challenger and Charger models will be gone by 2024. Now, why would they do this? The Charger and Challenger are ready for an update but instead of soldering on as gasoline-powered muscle cars, Dodge is going to introduce its all-new lineup of electric muscle cars, or eMuscle as it’s being touted. Some drivers will be upset with this initiative but overall, this will be best for the safety of drivers and the sustainability of the planet.

Electric cars are the way of the future. These electric muscle cars will be faster, easier to maintain, and safer than any gasoline-powered muscle car that has come before. These new electric muscle cars from Dodge are targeted to have at least 500 miles of range and yes, they can do burnouts! The fire-breathing soul will still live on.

We can expect to see the release of the Dodge electric muscle car by Q2 of this year. Dodge is currently filing for patents and that will lead the lineup for electrification across all models. We do not know what these new electric cars will be named but there is a lot of brand equity with the name Charger and Challenger so we expect Dodge to do something cool with the names of these new models.
