A Complete Look at the All-New Jeep Wrangler

Legendary 4×4 Capability

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler has two advanced 4×4 systems, Command-Trac and Rock-Trac, to deliver the best there is in off-road capability. Command-Trac features a two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio and next-generation solid Dana front and rear axels with a 3.45 rear axle ratio.

The Rock-Track system, which is on Rubicon models, has heavy duty next-generation Dana 44 front and rear axles with a “4LO” ratio of 4:1. A 4.10 front and rear axle ratio and Tru-Lok locking differentials are standard.

In addition to Command-Trac and Rock-Trac, Sahara models also have a two-speed transfer case with full-time four-wheel drive and a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio for the first time in Wrangler’s history.

The 2018 Wrangler’s 4×4 capabilities also feature up to 30 inches of water fording and industry-leading ground clearance and approach, breakover and departure angles.

Advanced Fuel-efficient Powertrains

As in previous years, the 2018 Wrangler is powered by the award-winning 3.6L Pentastar V6, but it got an upgrade this year. The engine now features Engine Stop-Start, which provides a broad torque band while focusing on low-end torque, which is essential for extreme off-roading.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler also has a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine as an option, and beginning in 2019, the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 will be available thanks to high consumer demand.

Modern, yet Heritage-Inspired Design

The all-new 2018 Wrangler’s design is inspired by the Jeep CJ models with its keystone-shaped grille. Its iconic round headlamps and square taillamps give that unmistakable Wrangler character, while the rugged design allows for better aerodynamics.

Additionally, the 2018 Wrangler has larger window for better visibility, a wide stance and lower beltline.

More Open-Air Options

With the Wrangler’s all-new Sky One-Touch power top, the 2018 Wrangler is the only true open-air 4×4 SUV on the market. This features allows for the full-length open canvas roof to be retracted with just the push of a button. This feature will be available in the second quarter of 2018.

The all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler will offer dozens of door, top and windshield combinations to allow for many configuration possibilities. Two hard tops and one soft top are available for the 2018 Wrangler, and in 2019, a there will be a new half-door design.

Advanced Technology

There are three new Uconnect systems on the new 2018 Wrangler: Uconnect 5-, 7- and 8.4NAV. All include a full-color LED touchscreen and instrument cluster. Uconnect 7.0 and 8.4NAV systems are equipped with new Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features to provide easier access for phone calls, music, text messaging, navigation, voice control, popular apps and more, all while staying focused on the road.
