Showing Love to UAMS Cancer Institute with $4k Donation

February 14th, 2019 by

We at Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram are proud to make yet another donation to the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. During the annual Crush for a Cure booth at the 2018 Arkansas State Fair, we raised $2,000, which we matched to make a $4,000 donation. The money will be used for breast cancer research and the UAMS Mammovan.

The check was presented by Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram General Manager Ivan Figueroa on Thursday, Feb. 14. We were excited to show our love to UAMS through this donation on Valentine’s Day.

“We’re very, very excited to show the love to UAMS and be able to help,” Figueroa said during the check presentation.

“The doctors do a phenomenal job to keep researching and trying to find a cure and help people, so we’re very, very proud to be a part of it.”

During the check presentation, a representative from UAMS said:

“On behalf of UAMS, we thank you because every dollar counts. Every event that you support us [at] makes a difference in a patient’s life, so we thank you.”

For the past six years, Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has held Crush for a Cure at the Arkansas State Fair as a way to raise money for cancer research in the community we live and work in. For $1 per hit, fairgoers can swing a pink sledgehammer at a crush car. We match the money raised at the fair and then make a donation to the UAMS Cancer Institute.

Over the past six years, this event has raised more than $30,000.

We look forward to many more years of Crush for a Cure and donations toward cancer research!
