Five Foods Every Thanksgiving Feast Should Have

November 22nd, 2019 by

Can you believe we’re already in the second week of November? It’s starting to feel like December with all these chilly mornings, but we’re staunch in our plans to celebrate Thanksgiving before we bust out the Christmas decorations! We couldn’t be more excited for this time of giving thanks and we’re getting our cars ready to make the journey to family’s homes and fireside gatherings. Let’s explore five Thanksgiving foods that we believe should be at every table!

Mashed Potatoes

There’s nothing quite like a spread of accoutrements next to your Thanksgiving turkey and, arguably, the most famous is mashed potatoes. Creamy, buttery… cheesy? Mashed potatoes do it all. Spread a hearty helping of mashed potatoes on your plate and let the fun begin. Odds are pretty high that your mashed potatoes are taking up the largest portion of your plate and there’s nothing wrong with that. We say keep the potatoes flowing and when you come back for seconds, be sure to dump another spoonful of mashed potatoes on your plate. You know that you won’t regret it.

Pumpkin Pie

We’re big fans of pie. Cherry, Apple, Strawberry… fruit pies get to have all the fun. But for one, beautiful week, Pumpkin Pie reigns king over all pies. Whether it’s bought from a local bakery or grandmother’s classic recipe, pumpkin pie tugs on our heartstrings and sends our taste buds soaring. Spread some whipped cream on top and you’re in for one tasty send-off to your Thanksgiving meal.

Stuffing

Are you an in-the-bird stuffing fan or an out-of-bird stuffing fan? Hey, we don’t judge, we’re just here to appreciate stuffing. The crunchy, herby stuffing pairs exceptionally well with turkey and makes an excellent topping for your mashed potatoes. Your stuffing is sure to be a hit and if there’s a food you can count on there to be no leftovers, it’s stuffing.

Turkey

We’d be remiss to not mention the king bird. If there’s not a turkey at your Thanksgiving table, what are you doing? One ten-pound turkey will feed 10-15 people and that’s part of the reason we have such extravagant Thanksgiving feasts! Show your appreciation for friends and family with a gobbler on the table this year– and, hey, you’ll have plenty of leftovers to get you through the weekend.

Gravy

Need we say more? The side-dish to rule all side-dishes. The Turner to your Hooch. The Han to your Chewbacca. Gravy just can’t work on its own.

Mouth watering? Planning to prepare your Thanksgiving feast early? In need of a new ride to get you across the state to your family’s house?
