How Much Arkansas Stuff Can the RAM 1500 Haul?

Do you ever catch yourself wondering, “How many diamonds can the RAM 1500 tow?” Well today, we’re going to find out! Just for fun, we decided to do the math and find out just how many of these Arkansas delicacies the 2020 RAM 1500 can tow! 

The 2020 RAM 1500 equipped with the 5.7-liter V8 engine with eTorque delivers maximum towing of up to 12,750 pounds. That’s a lot of oomph, but how many of famous Arkansas delicacies does that equate to? Sit down and get your calculators ready cause we’re about to go to math class! 

Diamonds

Arkansas is known as the Diamond State for its notorious diamond mine, the Crater of Diamonds State Park. How many diamonds could you tow away in your RAM 1500? One single carat diamond is equivalent to .2 grams, and one pound is equal to 453.592 grams. Here’s the math: 

12,750 pounds x 453.592= 5,783,298 grams. 

Now we know that the RAM 1500 can tow 5,783,298 grams. Now, we divide by .2 grams, or a one carat diamond! 

5,783,298 / .2 = 28,916,490 one-carat diamonds!

 Rice 

Arkansas is the largest producer of rice in the United States, so we thought it would be fitting to see how many grains of rice the RAM 1500 can tow! One average grain of rice weighs .029 grams. We remember from the last problem that the RAM 1500 can tow 5,783,298 grams, so now we will divide that number by the weight of a grain of rice. 

5,783,298 / .029 = 199,424,069 grains of rice!

We realize this may be hard to visualize. How many 10 pound bags of rice can the 1500 tow? 

12,750 / 10 = 1275 ten-pound bags of rice!

Cheese Dip

Arkansas is serious about their cheese dip, and there is an annual Cheese Dip Festival to prove it! How many cups of cheese dip can the RAM 1500 truck bed hold? If your RAM is equipped with the 6’4” box, it can hold a cargo volume of 61.5 cubic feet. One cup is equal to 0.00835503 cubic feet, so let’s do the math!

61.5 / 0.00835503 = 7,360.8 cups of cheese dip! That’s plenty for a HUGE party!

Kayaks

Arkansas is the Natural State for a reason! Floating on one of Arkansas’ beautiful rivers is one of the greatest ways to see the state. So if you’re planning a float trip, how many kayaks by weight can your RAM 1500 tow? (Don’t try this one at home, kids!)
