Introducing the 2019 Ram 1500

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles debuted the 2019 Ram 1500 in January at the North American International Auto Show and it’s a whole new machine. Not only has it had a facelift, but it’s also been overhauled from the inside out.
For starters, the truck is 225 pounds lighter than the previous model thanks in part to it’s new frame that is made of 98 percent high-strength steel. The steel makes the truck more durable and rigid, which gives better handling.
In addition to its weight loss, the 2019 Ram 1500 has an increased maximum payload of 2,300 pounds and can tow a maximum of 12,750 pounds. It’s the most aerodynamic pickup truck in its segment with grille shutters, air suspension and air dam as exclusive aerodynamic features and a .357 coefficient of drag.
The 2019 Ram 1500 debuts a new hybrid system on the current engines.
The eTorque mild hybrid system improves fuel efficiency on the second generation of the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and 5.7L HEMI V8 engines, while allowing for better performance, drivability, towing capabilities and payload. The eTorque system joins a 48-volt battery pack with a belt-drive motor generator to allow for start/stop function, brake energy regeneration and short-term torque assist.

With eTorque, the standard 3.6L V6 gives 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. With eTorque on the 5.7L HEMI, the truck gets 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
Visually, it’s obvious the 2019 Ram 1500 is different from previous years. All models feature “RAM” and a chiseled Ram’s head logo on the grille as the crosshair grille has all but retired. The headlights are slimer and wider than the current year and available in both halogen and LED. Overall, the new 2019 Ram 1500 is longer and wider with a spacious interior thanks to an additional four inches of cab length.
Inside the 2019 Ram 1500, the new fourth-generation Uconnect 4C system takes center stage.
The system comes with a 12-inch reconfigurable touchscreen display that has split-screen capability for dual-application operation. The Uconnect system also features a new SiriusXM with 360L personalized listening experience; SiriusXM Guardian Connected Services; Harman Kardon audio system with 19 premium speakers, 900-watt surround sound amplifier, 10-inch subwoofer and active noise cancellation; 360-degree Surround View Camera with bird’s eye perspective; new multifunction USB ports and available wireless charging; Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; and available navigation.
With all this, the 2019 Ram 1500 is sure to be a hit with truck lovers and Ram enthusiasts everywhere. Available soon at Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, let us know if you’re interested in taking the 2019 Ram 1500 when it hits our showroom floor!
