Jeeps Announces the New, Three-Row 2021 Grand Cherokee L

For years, Jeep fans have been waiting for the brand to produce a new full-size vehicle with enough room for the extended family. The wait is finally over! Jeep recently announced the all-new, 2021 Grand Cherokee L, the brand’s first full-size, three-row vehicle! We’re here to give you the inside scoop on the new Grand Cherokee L before it drives onto the Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram lot this spring! Read on to learn more.
The original Grand Cherokee was introduced in 1992 and it quickly took the market by storm. With luxurious design, uncompromising capability and, of course, the iconic Jeep nameplate, the Grand Cherokee set a new benchmark for SUVs. Nearly thirty years later, the 2021 Grand Cherokee is here to disrupt the SUV market once again and raise the bar for luxury and performance.
The new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L has been designed inside and out to deliver outstanding capability and an unmatched driver and passenger experience. The foundation of this SUV is an all-new architecture with independent front and rear suspensions and a class-exclusive Quadra-Lift air suspension with electronic adaptive damping that delivers outstanding capability and on-road driving dynamics.
Built on this new foundation is stunning Jeep design with a shape inspired by the first Jeep Wagoneer with some modern updates. Unlike other models, the Grand Cherokee L has a longer hood and cab for a balanced look, and its tapered roofline improves aerodynamics without sacrificing interior space and comfort. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Jeep without the signature seven-slot grille, and this one is pretty special. Paying homage to older models of the Wagoneer, the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L features a forward-slanting grille with wider and larger grille slots and elegant trim that pairs perfectly with the new slim LED headlights.
As for the powertrain, the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L offers consumers the choice between two powerful engines: the standard all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine or the award-winning 5.7-liter V8. The 3.6-liter engine is rated at 290 horsepower and 257 lb.-ft. of torque, and provides up to 6,200 pounds of towing capacity. For consumers who crave a little more power, the 5.7-liter V8 is rated at 357 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque and provides up to 7,200 pounds of towing capacity. Both engines are paired with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission that enhances fuel economy and provides clean gear changes.
With three available 4×4 systems, drivers can feel confident in every off-road excursion. Consumers have the choice of the Quadra-Trac 1, Quadra Trac 2 and Quadra-Drive 2 4×4 systems, all of which include the class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system. The system allows drivers to switch between five available terrain modes; Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand; for optimum capability in different driving scenarios!
