We at Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram wanted to give you a closer look at what to expect with the November Tire Event. The event stems from our desire to find the perfect tires for you. Read further to find out what to expect.

Do you need new tires? 

Tires age at different speeds depending on factors like weather and road conditions. Constantly driving on gravel or over potholes will also wear your tires down faster compared to driving on the smooth highway road. Here are some ways to know when you need new tires. If you’re still unsure, you can have our team inspect them for you! Our Service Department is dedicated and amazing at what they do.

• Dry rot
• Cracked treads
• You’re driving on a spare
• Tire blowout
• Weather change (winter is coming) 
• Consistently driving at high speeds 
• Hard braking
• If you don’t have any tires, you may need new tires. 

Check Your Tire Pressure

Here’s how to check your tire pressure. 

Hide Lincoln’s head. 

The quickest way to check if you need new tires is the penny test. Grab a penny by the base where you can see Lincoln’s head. Then dunk the president headfirst into the treads of your tire. Good tire tread will cover Lincoln’s hair and part of his forehead. It may reach to his eyebrows or cover his entire face, depending on your tires. This means your tires have passed the penny test. Congrats!

Now, what if you can still see Lincoln’s face? If the tread barely covers the hair, then your tires are okay, as long as you don’t plan on driving in extreme weather conditions. If the only thing your tire treads are covering is the “we” of “In God We Trust” or if you can see the entire penny, then it is time to replace your tires. They did not pass the penny test, but don’t fret! We are in the middle of the November Tire Event.

Important Information

This November event does have some guidelines to follow if you want the Landers gift card. The tires must be identical in brand, size, model, and rating. After purchasing four tires from us, our service team has to install them at the dealership. If while purchasing your tires, you find another dealership has a lower price, you can enact the Landers price match guarantee. Simply bring the required proof of our competitors’ offer and we’ll drop ours to match.
