‘Tis the Season to Give Back

December 2nd, 2021 by

We at Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram know the importance of helping our community. We strive to do good each time we open our doors. We help find cars for customers every day, but we’ve also partnered with local organizations throughout the years to give back to our community through drives, donations, and events. The holiday season is often a time of giving back, but it’s something we encourage year-round as well. If you’re looking for somewhere to give back or donate this season, here is a list of four local places you can give money and/or time to this year.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army has been helping communities since 1865. This year, Landers Auto Group in Little Rock also made a donation to The Salvation Army Angel Tree. For those who may have nothing this holiday season, the Angel Tree program reaches out and provides children and the elderly with gifts to make the season seem a little brighter. You can read more about The Salvation Army on the Landers blog

Arkansas Food Bank

With the December holidays following so closely after Thanksgiving, the Food Bank has a small window to refill their resources to pass out to those who need them. The Arkansas Food Bank would be an excellent place to start when looking to donate this season. There continues to be a great need in our community for food as the Covid-19 pandemic rages on. The increase in food prices has not made increasing the pantry’s storage easier. Cans of vegetables and protein options are always in need. If donating food is not an option for you, you can also donate time to help pack boxes to send to families. Click the link above to learn more about how to donate.

Little Rock Compassion Center

This Little Rock Compassion Center focuses on providing food and a safe place for the people fighting poverty and addiction in our community. While the Compassion Center offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day throughout the year to anyone who needs it, the holiday season is especially tough because of the increase of people needing help to make ends meet. As well as providing three meals daily, the center also provides sleeping arrangements to 250 people each night. With the nights growing colder, more people are looking for a place to stay warm. When donating to the Little Rock Compassion Center, you have many options to choose from, including volunteering and helping them prepare a new women’s and children’s shelter.

Our House

Our House is another organization focused on helping the homeless throughout the year in Little Rock and Central Arkansas. Our House has been working to help end the cycle of poverty and homelessness for Arkansas families for over 30 years. During the holiday season, Our House looks for people to donate meals, gift cards, monetary donations, or to adopt a family to help. If you adopt a family, the process is similar to adopting an angel for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. You will receive a list of needs or a Christmas wish list with a date to drop off gifts. If you’re interested in learning more, check out their website to help Our House spread Christmas cheer.

Join us in investing in our community this year! If you have any other places you like to support during the season, let us know in the comments!
