Perfect Car to Transport Food to Holiday Celebrations & Events

With Thanksgiving closer than it seems and Christmas carols getting louder every day, we at Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Little Rock, Arkansas thought it’d be beneficial to pick out some vehicles on the lot that will help you safely transport whatever you may bring to the annual family dinner. The goal is to keep the food or liquid in its container and not onto your passengers’ shoes or all over your newly purchased all-weather floor mats. We hope this advice makes your holiday gatherings that much easier. 

Here are the vehicles we at Landers Country think would be best. We have two different SUVs and a truck to start your search for the perfect transport vehicle. 

Dodge Durango

Out of our entire Dodge inventory, the Durango keeps the spirit of Dodge without tempting the driver to forget about the perfectly spillable casserole container sitting on their floorboard. The new Dodge Durangos have foldable second and third-row seats, and plenty of legroom so your dishes won’t get trampled under squished feet. If you find that the Durango has too much space, check out the other vehicles we think would be great at getting your signature dish to the gathering. Or, place your dish in a larger container, like a laundry basket or cardboard box, to keep it from sliding around in the excess cabin space.

Jeep Wrangler

Here us out on this one. If Grandma’s house is deep in the woods, the Wrangler has the perfect off-roading capability to make it past any big bad wolf. In all seriousness, while the goal is to not spill even a drop of your famous sweet tea or green bean casserole, Jeep Wranglers are ready for the mess. Wranglers were designed with the idea that where there’s off-roading, there’s going to be a major cleanup. Floors will be easier to clean afterward, and newer models, such as the 2022 Wrangler, even have one-way floor drain valves.

Ram 1500

If driving an SUV isn’t your style but a truck is, may we suggest the Ram 1500? While the Ram 1500 won’t have the same towing capacity as say the Ram 3500, the Ram 1500 is still a capable truck with another roomy cabin that was built for comfort. The 2022 Ram 1500 even has available in-floor storage to keep the stuffing and sweet potatoes tucked away for the journey.

Let us know if any of these three vehicles seem to be the best choice for you! While transporting food and drinks, you always want to keep them secure. Throw some aluminum foil on top of the dishes and make sure the tea jug has a lid. While heated seats may keep your food warm briefly, they do nothing to make sure your dish doesn’t slide into the floor or fly into the windshield at the occasional forceful stop. Keep your dishes in the floorboard, trunk, or even a passenger’s lap (if the dish isn’t too hot).
